Grandmother's Choice BOWs 38 and 39

BOW 38 is Nonsense, and BOW 39 is Endless Stairs.

Shipshewana Sampler section 2

Another section assigned and completed.

Out to Sea progress

Finally getting back to the Mariner's compass I started several years ago in a Judy Mathieson class. It got set into the background square when I took another class from her at Empty Spools. And last weekend I finally got the Square in Square blocks done with the embroidered lighthouses. It is up to 54" square, and needs another round or two to bring it up to queen size.

Grandmother's Choice BOW 36 and 37

BOW 36 is the Sunbonnet Baby. My little bit of rebellion is the bird tattoo on her shoulder.

BOW 37 is the Nameless Star, one of my favorite blocks, or at least one I have made more than any other. I usually call it the sawtooth star.

Shipshewana Sampler section 4

The only applique block in this quilt. Used freezer paper (doubled) and starch to iron the seam allowance under, laid out using light box, pinned and hand appliqued.

Grandmother's Choice

Ah I remember the woman should make the coffee scenario well. A couple of big scenes in "9 to 5" as well.

BOW 35 I'm an Anti - for those women against Suffrage, reminds me of the women who thought a woman's place was in the home (and only the home) not so long ago, and now as well.

Gardening season

I started my summer garden a couple of weeks ago, starting with summer squash

Yesterday I added an herb garden

And finished the large raised bed in the front yard (bush beans on the left are new)

And finally, some of the tomatoes. Love these super pots to augment the raised beds.
